Modern techniques are reshaping our approach to tooth replacement. With same day dental implants, our patients walk out of the surgery with a tooth or an entire arch of teeth that are both functional and aesthetic – all in just one day.
Traditional dental implant procedures typically require a waiting period before a fully functional temporary crown is placed. However, with the same day implant technique, your temporary tooth or set of teeth are fixed onto your implants within the same appointment. Your temporary teeth will allow you to smile with confidence while you heal and wait for your permanent prostheses.
Also called immediate loading implants or same-day smile, “same day implants” are terms used to describe a procedure where the dental implant (a biocompatible titanium screw that replaces the root of the tooth) and a temporary prosthesis (crown or bridge) are placed in a single session.
For our patients, this means they can walk out of the dental office with a tooth or an entire arch of teeth that work properly and appear natural.
The ideal candidates for same day dental implants are individuals with good jawbone density, ensuring a strong foundation for the implants. They should also have healthy gums to promote optimal healing and implant stability. Moreover, they should be free from any medical conditions that may negatively affect bone healing.
You can still restore your smile with traditional dental implant techniques. The process may take longer, but you will still get the same beautiful, permanent results.
Prior to dental implants, some patients may require periodontal treatment to address gum health or bone grafting to increase jawbone density. If you have underlying medical conditions that could impact healing, your oral surgeon will discuss alternative solutions for replacing missing teeth.
Whether it’s same day or traditional dental implants, your procedure will be pain-free. The surgery is done under local anesthesia to make sure you are comfortable all throughout your journey. Dental surgeries under general anesthesia are also available for patients requiring extra care.
Caring for your dental implants and other restorations is similar to maintaining your natural teeth. Maintain good oral hygiene - brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, and clean between your teeth every day using a floss, an interdental brush, or a water flosser. Visit your dentist and hygienist every six months to prevent any problems that may affect your oral health.
Your coverage will depend on your specific insurance policy. At Drs. Nicolas & Asp Centers, we accept most major insurance cards for direct billing of all approved dental services.
If your insurance plan does not cover direct billing, we'll gladly help you process the required documentation to file a claim. For further assistance, please call us at 04 394 7777.
