        Diode lasers are commonly used for cosmetic and functional soft-tissue procedures such as gum contouring for a gummy smile and gum depigmentation. Because the laser seals small blood vessels as it works, these procedures typically involve less bleeding and a clearer surgical field than traditional cutting tools.

      • Support for Gum Disease and Recession Treatment

        If you're being treated for gum disease, your periodontist may use a laser alongside scaling and root planing or Guided Biofilm Therapy to support the cleaning process. Laser can also play a helpful supporting role in some gum recession treatment.

      • Decontamination and Peri-Implant Maintenance

        For patients with dental implants, a laser may be used to help clean and decontaminate the tissue around the implant as part of ongoing peri-implant care.
