      Your First Visit

      New Patient Information

Your First Visit to Drs. Nicolas & Asp Centers

We love welcoming new patients — and we make sure the process is as smooth as possible. Whether you’re based in Dubai, coming in from another emirate, or visiting the UAE as a tourist, here’s everything you need to know before you arrive.

      Your First Visit

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

To register as a new patient, please bring one of the following forms of identification.

      UAE Residents

Emirates ID, driver’s licence, or passport

      Tourists & Visitors

      Passport

If you have insurance, sharing your policy details ahead of your visit means we can verify your coverage and arrange any pre-approvals in advance — reducing wait time on the day and avoiding any unwanted surprises.

      Arrival and Registration

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow enough time to complete your registration and medical history form.

If this is your first visit and you’re unsure what to expect, there’s no need to worry — our team will be happy to guide you through the process when you arrive.

      Your Comprehensive Dental Consultation

Your first appointment is more than a check-up — it’s a full picture of your oral health. Our dentist will take the time to understand your dental history, any concerns you have, and what you’d like to achieve.

      How Long to Expect

For adults, a first consultation typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. This allows enough time for a thorough clinical examination, a review of your dental and medical history, any necessary X-rays, oral cancer screening, and a clear discussion of findings. More complex cases — such as patients with multiple existing restorations, signs of gum disease, or specific concerns — may take a little longer.

For children, the first visit is generally 20 to 30 minutes or more, depending on the child’s age, how many teeth have come through, and how comfortable they feel in the chair. Younger children or first-time visitors may need a little more time to settle in — and our team is experienced at making that process gentle and unhurried. Children should have their first dental visit by their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming through.

Haven’t had a cleaning in six months or more? Mention it when you book and we’ll arrange a consultation and GBT cleaning together — so you leave with both a clear picture of your dental health and a thoroughly fresh start.

We Also Recommend a Professional Clean

Professional guidelines recommend a dental cleaning at least every six months. If it’s been a while since your last clean — or if you’re not sure — we can schedule your cleaning back to back with your consultation, so you get both done in one visit without a long wait.

At our clinics, we offer Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) — a modern, evidence-based dental cleaning protocol that goes beyond a traditional scale and polish.

GBT begins by using a gentle disclosing solution to reveal the invisible layer of bacteria — known as biofilm — on your teeth and along the gumline. Once visible, the biofilm is removed using the AIRFLOW® system: a precise combination of warm water, fine erythritol powder, and gentle air pressure that cleans thoroughly without harsh scraping.

The result is a deeper, more comfortable clean and our patients frequently describe it as the most comfortable cleaning they’ve ever had.

      Insurance and Pre-Approvals

We work with most major insurance providers and handle all pre-approvals and paperwork on your behalf — so you can focus on your health, not the admin.
