Orthodontic Check-ups
July 14, 2020 2:22 pmThis is the right time to address the need for braces; orthodontics; for your child.
If you think your child may need to see an orthodontist, The American Association of Orthodontists recommends doing it as soon as you first see there may be a problem – or before 7 years of age.
Why? Because at this age, your child will have a mix of baby and adult teeth giving the orthodontist lots of valuable information about your child’s dental development and helping them give you the most detailed and accurate treatment recommendations.
However, if your child is older than 7 – it’s not too late!
Many patients begin treatment between the ages of 9 and 16 years.
Majority of children require orthodontic treatment in order to make sure their teeth are all in the right places. A nice smile is key for your child’s future self esteem and confidence.
In addition, braces spare unnecessary problems that may develop with biting, chewing, tooth decay, gum disease and some times even with speaking.
Teeth that function well look good too.
